Delta County, Colorado
is located at the base of the Grand Mesa, the world's highest flat topped mountain, and nestled between the confluence of the Gunnison and Uncompahgre Rivers. Delta County's five unique and friendly towns feature playgrounds from 4,000 feet to 11,000 feet with everything from small country farms, orchards and vineyards to schools, businesses and a technical college. Delta County Memorial Hospital serves about 40,000 people in the primary service area and because of the topography of the district, all major thoroughfares in the county pass through the city of Delta.

Delta is ranked in the top 1/3 of communities for climate, housing, health care and recreation. We have year-round fishing with over 200 trout-filled lakes and many miles of gold medal streams and rivers. Hiking trails, mountain biking and four-wheeling are also just a short distance atop the Grand Mesa National Forest or the West Elk Mountain Range. Black Canyon of the Gunnison exposes you to some of the steepest cliffs, oldest rock, and craggiest spires in North America. There are many options for snow skiing and ice climbing as Delta is close to Powderhorn, Telluride, Aspen, Ouray and Crested Butte. We are less than an hour away from two regional airports so that your family and friends can also visit our magnificent outdoor paradise.

We have incredible scenery, outdoor sports, beautiful wildlife and nature at our fingertips.

What we do not have is the hustle and bustle of a big city.

A candidate that would love our hospital is one that likes a simpler and quiet lifestyle a rural community can offer.
