Clinical Nutrition Services and Diabetes Education
Get Fit and Go (Co-sponsored by Nutrition Services and Cardio-Pulmonary Rehabilitation Depts.)
The Delta County Memorial Hospital Clinical Nutrition and Diabetes Education Department offers education and support to individuals and their family members who require assistance with nutrition-related diagnoses. We specialize in diabetes education, which is provided by
Registered Dietitian/Nutritionists (RD/RDN) and Certified Diabetes Educators (CDE).
The DCMH team of nutrition professionals offers one-on-one and group sessions to aid individuals who are working to manage their weight. "Get Up and GO!" is a group weight management program that offers both nutrition and exercise education.
Diabetes is a manageable disease. With proper care and education, people with diabetes live healthy lives. Without proper management, people with diabetes are more likely to develop debilitating complications such as blindness, kidney failure, heart attacks and amputations. We are continually expanding our services to meet this growing need in our community.
Diabetes Support Group
The Delta County Memorial Hospital Diabetes Support group has been ongoing for over 15 years. Meeting at 2:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month, the group is led by Dietitians and Diabetes Educators. Topics are generated by requests from the group. There is no charge for this program.

How to Arrange a Visit
Begin by asking your physician for a referral to a Registered Dietitian for Medical Nutrition Therapy. Our department will contact you to make an appointment once we receive the referral from your doctor. We are available Monday through Friday from 9 to 4. Special appointments may be arranged for other hours as needed.
Insurance and Billing
You should check your insurance policy to learn whether medical nutrition therapy or nutrition education is covered. For those without insurance, check with our registration clerks to see what types of payment programs are available to help with your bill.
