Changes in DCMH 2020 Health Fair

Delta, CO (January 2, 2020) - Delta County Memorial Hospital (DCMH) is excited to announce the 2020 Delta County community-wide health fairs which include Early Blood Draw events will be in October and the Health Fairs in mid-November in Paonia, Cedaredge and Delta.

"This will be an exciting change for Delta County Residents," stated Jacque Davis, Marketing Director for (DCMH). "We are working with even more community vendors in hopes of bringing Delta County really great health fairs offering even more."

Davis said that DCMH is excited to head into 2020 with a fresh new look for the annual health fair.

"This year we have named our year-long campaign and Health Fair events as, Foresight 2020: Foresight for Your Health," stated Davis. "This year's focus will be on stepping back to look forward for your health by taking personal control and on being a champion in your own healthcare through prevention, education and health services."

In 2020 DCMH will also be transitioning from working with Western Health Screenings (WHS) to a new health fair vendor, It Starts with Me. After 30 years of partnering with WHS, (who contracted with DCMH to assist in scheduling health fairs, online registration and blood draws) owners Bill and Marge Hall will be retiring.

"We are so grateful to everyone at WHS," said Davis. "Bill and Marge have been a true pleasure to work with and have served our communities with such love and dedication. We wish them nothing but the best."

WHS has been honored to partner with the Western Slope communities to provide health fairs and blood screening services for over 30 years, said Marge Hall.

"We have made many friends, and friends that we consider family," said Marge Hall. "We will miss everyone, but we are leaving you in good hands with the people of It Starts With Me health. Health fair blood screenings will continue with this great team in fall 2020. Thank you to [DCMH] and the participants in surrounding communities for making 30 years of health fairs a success for WHS."

DCMH will still be having the early community blood draws and health fairs, just a little later in the year, said Davis.

"Being earlier in the [fall/winter] season, we are hoping that weather won't be such a hindrance, although we do live in Colorado and anything is possible," said Davis. "This year's main health fair in Delta will also be on a Saturday, allowing families and others who might be working or at school an easier time participating."

Davis said DCMH is working to make this year's event worth the wait.

"So stay tuned, and if anyone still has questions they are welcome to give me a call at 970.874.2291," said Davis.
